O?Donnell Named to National Honor Roll

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Colleen O'Donnell (Portland, Ore. / St. Mary's Academy) of the Robert Morris University women's lacrosse team earned a spot on the SynapseSports.com weekly honor roll this week after leading Robert Morris to a pair of wins, pushing its winning streak to five games.

O'Donnell led Robert Morris to a pair of wins last week against Mount St. Mary's and Monmouth, who entered the week tied for first-place in the Northeast Conference. The junior became the first player in NCAA history to record 50 or more ground balls and 50 or more caused turnovers in the same season (the NCAA began recording caused turnover stats in 2001) and earned conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts. O'Donnell leads the nation in caused turnovers with 52 which ranks as the most in NCAA Division I since 2009. The closest player to O'Donnell in the national standings for caused turnovers is Grace Golden of William & Mary with 35, 17 behind O'Donnell. Her 52 caused turnovers are more than the entire Fresno State team has complied this season. The Portland, Ore. native also sits third nationally in ground balls per game averaging 3.67 per contest. O'Donnell owns the top four caused turnover single game highs in the NEC this season and ranks as the only player in the NEC to cause six turnovers in a game, a feat which she has accomplished three times.

The Colonials close the regular season at 4:00 p.m. Thursday with a road contest against instate conference rival Saint Francis (Pa.).
