Moon Township, Pa. - For the second time this season,
sophomore forward Rebecca Vint (Caledon,
Ontario / Brampton Jr. Thunder) of the Robert
Morris University women's hockey team earns a College Hockey America Award
as she was named CHA Player of the Month as announced in a league release.
The monthly
award marks the third in Vint's career, as she earned two Rookie of the Month
honors last season. Vint remains the
second active Colonial, joining junior assistant captain Thea Imbrogno (Ebticoke, Ontario / Mississauga Jr. Cheifs) to have
earned a CHA monthly award. The Player
of the Month honor is the first of her career.
Vint earns
the award after leading RMU to a 6-1-1 record throughout the month of November. Vint has scored eight goals and dished out
four assists in the Colonials' four series away from home. Vint's eight goals came on 37 shots to tally
a .216 shooting percentage.
Throughout
the month, Vint has registered single-game season highs for goals and
assists. On November 10, at Penn State
the forward tied a program record for goals in a single-game with five. Two times in the previous month, against No.
10 Northeastern and against College Hockey America member Syracuse, Vint
registered a season-high two assists. In
the eight-game stretch, the forward has won 53 percent of her faceoffs.
Vint has also
scored four game-winning goals throughout November while also tallying the
first hat trick of her young career. In
the Colonials eight games, Vint notched three multi-point games. Her multi-point performances came in contests
against league opponents Penn State and Syracuse. In RMU's four league contests in November,
Vint has tallied 10 ten points, seven goals and three assists. Vint
has finished the month at an impressive +10.
Vint currently
ranks in the top-25 nationally in three statistical categories. The sophomore
ranks 25th in points per game with 1.33 and is tied 14th with
0.75 goals per game. Her most notable
ranking comes from her four game-winning goals which places her second
nationally.
Vint and the
Colonials return home this weekend as they welcome CHA foe Mercyhurst for a two
game series on Dec. 7-8. Faceoff is set
for 7:05 p.m. on Friday and 3:05 Saturday at the RMU Island Sports Center.
