Vint was one of just six student-athletes across the country selected to the team after she provided RMU with a major spark in her initial collegiate season. Vint broke a bevy of RMU's single-season records while leading the squad to its best season ever, which included the program's first conference title and a new program-record win total.

Vint had the best offensive season in program history despite being brand new to the collegiate game. She broke RMU's single-season records in points (44), goals (22) and assists (22) as she became the first Colonial to ever reach 40 points or 20 goals in a campaign. In February, Vint was one of just three freshmen nationally named as one of the 30 nominees for the 15th annual Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. Vint broke the Colonials' record for most in-season awards in a campaign as she earned two Player of the Week honors from the CHA, two Rookie of the Month accolades and six Rookie of the Week awards.

Vint exploded onto the scene when she scored in each of the team's opening six games, marking the first time ever that a Colonial had scored in any six consecutive games. She reset the longest point streak in school history (12) and posted 13 multi-point games and six multi-goal outings. Vint finished fourth nationally in points per game among rookies with 1.38 and was tied for third nationally in goals by rookies. Vint, who led the league and finished among the top 10 nationally overall in game-winning goals, also led the team in points in CHA play. Vint tallied a season-best four points in a game Oct. 21 at RPI and also assisted on both the tying and winning goals in RMU's regular-season victory over Mercyhurst.

Vint's performance helped the Colonials to the largest year-to-year win improvement in Division I women's hockey in 2011-12 as RMU posted an amazing 13-win improvement from the prior season.

Vint also played a significant role in RMU's first CHA championship as she scored the game-winning goal in the semifinal matchup before notching the primary assist on the championship-winning score against Mercyhurst in the title game.

Vint was previously named as the CHA's Rookie of the Year, giving the Colonial program the honor in back-to-back seasons as sophomore Thea Imbrogno (Etobicoke, Ontario / Mississauga Jr. Chiefs) won the award in the 2010-11 season. In addition to the rookie honors, Vint was also tabbed All-CHA First Team, becoming only the third rookie from any league school to earn that honor within the past five years.

With Vint finding holes in opponents' defenses, Robert Morris also set a variety of single-season team records. The Colonials topped their previous best marks in total goals (100) and goals per game (3.12) as they averaged over one goal per game more than last season. Vint also helped RMU feature one of the better power-play units in the country as Robert Morris was one of nine schools nationally to post a conversion percentage of 20 percent or greater.

Vint's recognition from USCHO comes just two days after the same organization named Robert Morris head coach Paul Colontino as its National Coach of the Year after his first season with the Colonials.
