(July 6, 2012) - Three of Robert Morris University's women's golfers have
been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Teams
for Division I, II, and III. Freshman Tori Zachman (Hampstead, Md. / North Carroll), freshman Sarah Weber (Hudson, Ohio / Hudson) and sophomore Annie Bozich (Aliquippa Pa. / Center) along with 583 others have
been awarded this notable honor. The criterion for eligibility of this award is
one of the most demanding amongst collegiate awards, with a minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.50.
Bozich receives this award for the second consecutive year. In
the 2011-12 season, she competed in 10 events before finishing the season with a stroke average of 87.9. The sophomore tallied a 76 in the final round of the season at the 2012 NEC Championships. Her best finish was a ninth-place showing at the RMU Holiday Inn Colonial Classic.
A rookie to this award, Zachman competed in six tournaments with the Colonials last season. She recorded her lowest round of
the season (87) at the RMU Holiday Inn Colonial Classic. And finished up the
season with a 93.4 average.
Another newcomer to this award, Weber participated in 10 tournaments with the Colonials last season. She recorded a top-10 finish (6th)
at the RMU Holiday Inn Colonial Classic. Her lowest round of the year was an 82 at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational. Weber ended the year with an average of 86.7.
Since the 2005-2006 season, the Colonials have earned this
awarded this award twelve times. Bozich, Zachman and Weber are the thirteenth,
fourteenth and fifteenth Colonials to be honored.
