Rinker Fires Career-Low 74 At YSU Invite

Youngstown, Ohio / Mill Creek Golf Club - Senior Jenna Rinker (Slippery Rock, Pa. / Slippery Rock) posted a career-low round of 74 in the first round of the Youngstown State Invitational at Mill Creek Golf Club in Youngstown, Ohio, Monday. The senior posted a two-over par and is one stroke behind leader Olivia Richards of Detroit-Mercy with 18 holes left to play.

The Colonials sit second following the first day's action after a team total of 306. Detroit-Mercy leads after scoring a 300. Host Youngstown State is third with a 308 followed by Walsh (311) and Niagara (316).

Rinker's round of 74 is the third lowest number in team history. She carded three birdies on the par-3 fifth, the par-five 12th and the par-four 15th holes. Her three birds tied for most in the tournament.

Freshman Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) is tied for sixth followed her opening round 76. She posted an even-par 36 on the front before coming home with a 40. Senior Tess Wolfe (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Blackhawk) is one stroke back with her career-best 18-hole total of 77. She sits 10th overall.

Junior Alee Everman (Dayton, Ohio / Centerville) carded a 79 and is tied for 17th. Junior Annie Bozich (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) finds herself in a tie for 28th with her round of 85.

Freshman Gianna Pro (Harrison City, Pa. / Penn-Trafford) and sophomores Sarah Weber (Hudson, Ohio / Hudson) and Tori Zachman (Hampstead, Md. / North Carroll) played as individuals. Pro shot a round of 78 while Weber carded an 81 and Zachman came home in 92 strokes.
