Colonials Travel To Monmouth Friday

The Robert Morris Colonials women's soccer team heads on the road to face conference-foe Monmouth. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at The Great Lawn in West Long Branch, N.J. The Colonials are coming off 1-1 tie against LIU Brooklyn in their Northeast Conference opener. The Colonials will look to build upon that results while seeking their first conference win against Monmouth.

Series

RMU is 2-16-0 all-time against the Hawks and lost last year's matchup by the score of 2-0. This series started in 1993 with the Colonials two wins 2007 and 2010. The win in 2007 snapped a 13-game losing streak to the Hawks.

Scouting the Hawks

Monmouth is off to a 5-4-1 start on the 2012 season and won their last two NEC games against Bryant and Central Connecticut State. The Hawks are unbeaten in their last five games posting a mark of 4-0-1. Monmouth's attack is led by junior Dana Costello. Costello leads the team in goals (5), assists (2), points (12), shots on goal (14), shots (30), and game winning goals (2). Sophomore goalkeeper Jocelyn McCoy holds the team lead in shutouts (3), wins (5), and saves (25). The Hawks will look to get a season-high third straight win on the season.
