RMU Opens Spring Season in Ohio

Dayton, Ohio - The Robert Morris University
men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2012-13 campaign this past weekend by dropping a pair of matches in Dayton, Ohio.

The Colonials opened their spring season with a 6-1 setback at Dayton Friday afternoon, followed by a 7-0 loss at Wright State Saturday.

Picking up the lone singles victory for RMU was junior Angus Thomson (Kedron, Australia). Thomson defeated Drew Hanley of the Flyers, 6-4 and 6-4, at the No. 2 singles flight.

Thomson also teamed up with senior Tarun Kishan (Mississauga, Ontario / Saint Francis Xavier Secondary) at the No. 1 doubles flight against Dayton to earn an 8-3 win over Aiden Koross and Kyle MacDonald.

Robert Morris continues its 2013 spring season with a swing through Western New York this weekend. The Colonials travel to Olean, N.Y., for a 3:00 p.m. match against St. Bonaventure Friday, Feb. 1, followed by a 5:00 p.m. match against Niagara University Saturday, Feb. 2.
