Anna Niki Stamolamprou (Thessaloniki, Greece / Aristotelio College of Thessaloniki) scored a season high 19 points for the Robert Morris University women's basketball team who lost at Duquesne, 79-63, Wednesday night. The Dukes (8-3) took advantage of 32 fouls against the Colonials (3-6) by going 23-of-33 from the line.
Stamolamprou had missed the previous four games before turning in a season-best performance with 19 points and six rebounds without committing a turnover.

Sal Buscaglia. "It was a young Robert Morris team against a very experienced and senior-laden Duquesne team. I was really happy to see the effort from all of our players.
Of course the return of Anna Niki after an illness was fantastic as she finished with 19 points six rebounds and no turnovers in 28 minutes. We're young, but if we can stay healthy, I really think good things are going to start happening for us."
Senior forward
Artemis Spanou (Rhodes, Greece / Nea Smyrni) became the all-time leader at Robert Morris with 1,641 points breaking the previous mark of 1,633 held by
Laura Lindak (1989-94). She also extended the second-longest streak of double-doubles in NCAA Division I to 33 games, scoring 13 points and pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds.
The Colonials fought through foul calls and turnovers to stay within seven points in the first half. The Colonials A three-pointer by sophomore
Lou Mataly (Toulouse, France / Lycee-Bellevue) gave the Colonials a 23-21 lead with 7:46 left in the half and RMU pushed that margin to four points when sophomore
Ashley Ravelli (Milano, Italy / The Hun School) dropped a pair of free throws. A 7-0 run by the Dukes would lead to a 15-6 surge to finish the first half, giving the host team a 40-33 lead at the break.
A three-pointer to open the second half by Mataly cut the Dukes lead to 40-36, but thehost squad took advantage of three RMU turnovers to go on a 9-0 run. Robert Morris wouldn't get closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Reagan Moore led all scorers with 20 points for Duquesne. April Robinson added 14 and Orsi Szecsi and Stasia King tacked on 11 each. The Colonials had three players foul out.
Robert Morris returns to the hardwood Saturday, Dec. 21, when they host Cornell in a 1:30 p.m. game at the Sewall Center.
