Traore Selected to French National Team for 2026 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU junior guard/forward Myriam Traore has been selected to represent France at the 2026 Women's U20 EuroBasket, set to take place July 4-12 in Alytus and Klaipeda, Lithuania.

A native of Lognes, France, Traore made an immediate impact during her first season with the Colonials after transferring from Siena. She appeared in all 30 games, making 27 starts, and earned Horizon All-League Third Team honors following an impressive 2025-26 campaign.

The 6-foot-3 guard/forward led RMU with 130 field goals made while shooting 45.4 percent from the field. She also paced the Colonials in three-point percentage (.347) and tied for the team lead with 42 made three-pointers

Traore finished second on the team in scoring with 352 points, averaging 11.7 points per game, and reached double figures in 18 contests.

Defensively, Traore anchored the Colonials by leading the team with 32 blocks, while adding 150 rebounds, 35 steals, and 42 assists. She ranked fourth in the Horizon League in blocks, averaging 1.1 per game.

2026 FIBA Women's U20 EuroBasket

France, led by head coach Xavier Noguera, will compete in Group D alongside Türkiye, Slovenia, and Belgium.

The French squad opens tournament play against Türkiye on Saturday, July 4, before facing Slovenia on Sunday, July 5, and Belgium on Tuesday, July 7. All group-stage games will be played in Alytus, Lithuania.
