Morgan State Slips Past RMU, 4-3

men's tennis opened the home portion of its 2013 spring schedule Saturday afternoon with a 4-3 setback to Morgan State.


The loss drops the Colonials to 2-8 on the season.

RMU picked up singles victories at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 flights against the Bears.

At No. 2, junior Angus Thomson (Kedron, Australia) posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Dmitriy Borodkin, while senior Jose Limon (Colonia San Jose, Mexico) earned a 6-4, 7-6 (10-6) win over Evan Ward at No. 3.

Picking up the final singles victory for Robert Morris was senior Tarun Kishan (Mississauga, Ontario / Saint Francis Xavier Secondary), who defeated Ondre Cargill, 6-0 and 6-1, at No. 4.

RMU is next in action with its annual spring break trip to Florida. The Colonials will play five matches over four days in Orlando, Fla., beginning with a match against Valparaiso Saturday, March 9.
