Levine Continues His Career with Syracuse Crunch

Moon Township, Pa. - The fifth and final member of the Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team graduating class from this season has decided to continue their hockey career.  Senior goaltender Eric Levine has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Levine (Wheeling, Ill. / Pembroke Lumber Kings) becomes the seventh Colonial in program history to spend time with a club in the AHL.  Syracuse is the AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning and is currently in a first-round playoff series for the Calder Cup.

Levine ended his career at Robert Morris as the all-time leader in goals-against average at 2.69 and save percentage at .925.  Part of the most successful senior class in program history with 65 career wins, Levine's senior season was one of the best turned in by a Colonial netminder. He finished the season ranked 13th in the nation with a .929 save percentage.

Playing in all but three games this season for the Colonials, Levine picked up 19 of the team's 20 wins while also recording four shutouts.  Two of his shutouts this season came in the inaugural Three Rivers Classic when he blanked Penn State and nationally-ranked Miami in the championship to earn Most Valuable Player honors for his 99-save performance.  His 19 wins, 1,148 saves, and four shutouts are all single-season records at Robert Morris.

Robert Morris will lose just five seniors, all of whom continued their hockey careers in the professional ranks, as the Colonials look to improve on its first 20-win season as the program enters its tenth year of existence.
