Colonials Finish Second Round Play at Cleveland State

Aurora, Ohio / Barrington C.C. — The Robert Morris University men's golf team is in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Cleveland State Invitational at Barrington Country Club in Aurora, Ohio.
 
Junior Santiago Mejia (Bogota, Colombia / Blessed Hope) opened play with a one-under par round of 71 before carding a 78 in round two. The transfer sits 33rd after two rounds with a 149.
 
Junior Ryan Prokay (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) and sophomore Garrett Browning (Imperial, Pa. / West Allegheny) posted identical scores Monday. Both opened the event with rounds of 77 before using 73 strokes to complete their second rounds. Prokay leads the field with 28 birdies and both players are tied for 34th.
 
Freshman Dean Hitt (Jackson, Mich. / Lumen Christi) posted an impressive one-over par 73 in round one. His 155 total includes a second-round 82 and has him tied for 52nd. Junior Matt Gurska (Hermitage, Pa. / Kennedy Catholic) has a 160 total, tied for 70th. He shot rounds of 77 and 83.
 
Freshman Mac Cavanaugh (West Newbury, Mass. / Pentucket Regional) is playing as an individual. He is 80th after rounds of 91 and 85.
