2014 U.S. Olympic Women's Hockey Team Roster

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Former Robert Morris University women's hockey goaltender Brianne McLaughlin has made the U.S. women's national team that will compete in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games next month in Sochi, Russia. This will be McLaughlin's second Olympic appearance, as she was a part of the 2010 U.S. women's national team that won silver at Vancouver.

In addition, this will be McLaughlin's fifth time competing in a major international event as a part of the U.S. women's national hockey team. The goaltender won gold medals in the 2011 and 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's Championships, and took home silver in the 2012 competition.

In her four seasons donning the Colonials' red, white, and blue, McLaughlin was a four-time All-College Hockey America (CHA) honoree and earned three national defensive player of the week awards. The netminder holds numerous program records, including the top spot in shutouts (eight), saves per game (31.74), and saves (3,809) – the latter of which also being a NCAA record.

The team was introduced this evening in Ann Arbor, Mich. at the second intermission of the NHL's 2014 Winter Classic.

McLaughlin, a native of Sheffield, Ohio, is the only Robert Morris student-athlete to compete in the Olympic Games. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in nursing.
