Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2013-14 schedule Friday with a 7-0 loss to Carnegie Mellon.
RMU's tilt with the Tartans marked the first dual match of the year for the Colonials.
The only victory for Robert Morris against CMU came at the No. 3 doubles flight, as sophomores
Juan Andres Hirmas (Santiago, Chile / Monte Tabor) and
Matheus Neves Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Collegio Mackenzie) teamed up to defeat Paul Okuda and Kenny Zheng, 8-5.
RMU continues its 2013-14 campaign by hosting St. Bonaventure Sunday, Feb. 2. The match against the Bonnies is the second of a five-match homestand to open the 2014 spring season.
