Brett, Williams Earn NSCAA All-Region Nods

Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's soccer team members Neco Brett and Speedy Williams earned spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America / Continental Tire Men's All-Northeast Region team. Brett was a first team selection while Williams was a third team selection.

Brett was an all-region first team selection as a junior as well. The native of Kingston, Jamaica, is the Northeast Conference Player of the Year after leading the nation in goals and points for the second consecutive season. Brett finished the season tied for first in the nation with 33 points and led Division I with 15 goals. The goal total is tied for the third in Colonials single-season annals while his point output is fifth best.

With five points in the first two games, Brett got the season off to a running start. He went on to record 12 goals in the team's first 13 games, including a four-goal performance in a 4-0 win against George Washington. It marked the second-most goals in team history and was the 15th hat trick in team history and the second for Brett. It was one of his three multi-goal games.

Brett is the third player in RMU history to be named NEC Player of the Year and is the first in team history to earn the honor more than once – he was also the 2013 NEC Player of the Year. Just a junior, he is already seventh at RMU with 69 career points despite not recording a single point in his freshman campaign. His 29 goals are tied for sixth while his sits just outside the program's top-15 with 11 assists.

Williams, who also calls Jamaica home, was an All-NEC First Team pick, moving up after earning second-team honors as a junior. His all-region selection is his first. The central midfielder had a career-best 14 points in his senior campaign. The total, comprised of six goals and four assists, was the sixth-best output among league players. Williams point total was second only to Brett's among Colonial players.

He scored single goals against Rider, VMI, Duquesne and Sacred Heart. In a 4-0 win over George Washington, Williams picked up a helper on three of the team's goals. That assist total is tied for second most in team history.

Robert Morris led the NEC in points (78), goals (26) and assists (26) for the second straight season.
