Schneider Promoted to Assistant Coach

Moon Township, Pa. – Robert Morris University head women's basketball coach Sal Buscaglia announced that Scott Schneider has been promoted to assistant coach after serving as a graduate assistant the past two seasons.Schneider in entering his fifth year on the RMU staff having served as a student assistant (2009-11) and a graduate assistant (2012-14).
 
12387"Scott has done an outstanding both as a student assistant and graduate assistant," said 12th year RMU head coach Sal Buscaglia. "He has proven he is ready to undertake the duties of a full-time assistant coach. I am confident he will be very effective in all areas assigned, which now include the very important responsibilities of recruiting and scheduling."
 
In his prior position on the staff, Schneider oversaw all the managers and assisted in various logistics of the program while also helping with video and opponent scouting. Other duties included organizing and helping to operate The Sal Buscaglia Individual and Team Summer Basketball Camps held at Robert Morris University.
 
Schneider was an assistant at Wheeling Jesuit University for the duration of the 2011-12 season. While there, he was pivotal in upgrading the team's scouting services in addition to helping develop practice schedules and providing on the court instruction.
 
After helping the Colonials for two seasons an undergraduate, Schneider graduated from RMU magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2011.
 
Before coming to Robert Morris, Schneider played for Central Christian College of Kansas during his junior season. He averaged 12 points per game for the Tigers and was an NCCAA Academic All-American in 2009. Prior to that, Schneider played two seasons at Barton County Community College (Kan.) and was a member of the 2006-2007 team that was the Region VI runner-up and earned a #9 national ranking during the season.
 
Schneider played high school basketball for Great Bend High School where he graduated in 2006. The Panthers won back-to-back state championships in 2005 and 2006, their first championships in school history. He earned first team All-WAC in consecutive seasons and was a Hutch News All-6A/5A First Team All-State selection leading the Panthers to a record of 45-5 over those two seasons.
 
Schneider graduated Magna Cum Laude from Robert Morris with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 2011. He then returned to RMU to earn his Masters of Science in organizational leadership in 2014.
