RMU Picked as Favorites in Atlantic Hockey Media Poll

Senior forward Zac Lynch Named a Preseason All-Star

Moon Township, Pa. -- The Atlantic Hockey Media Association has released its annual preseason media poll and the selection of a preseason all­star team. Robert Morris is expected to repeat as regular season champions, while last year's playoff winner RIT is picked to finish second.

Senior forward Zac Lynch was also voted a Preseason All-Star. A Pittsburgh native, Lynch is the Colonials leading returning scorer, netting 40 points on 18 goals and 22 assists in the 2014-15 season.

RMU won the 2014-15 regular season conference title with a 19-5-4 league record and finished the season 24-8-5 overall. Derek Schooley was named AHC Coach of the Year. The Colonials return nine seniors, all defensemen, and welcome a total of five newcomers aboard.

Robert Morris plays an exhibition against the University of Guelph Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2:05 p.m. at 84 Lumber Arena, before opening the regular season at home against AHC opponent Air Force, October 16-17.
