RMU Receiving Votes in USA Today Poll

First time receiving votes in a national poll this season

Pittsburgh, Pa. – For the first time this season, the Robert Morris University women's hockey team is receiving votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll, as released by USCHO.com.

The last time the Colonials (7-4-1, 3-1-0) were receiving votes in a national poll was Oct. 7, 2014, which capped a three-week stint during which Robert Morris was earning nods in a national poll.

Robert Morris is the only team in the CHA currently receiving votes nationally. Additionally, RMU is currently ranked No. 14 in the Women's Division I PairWise Rankings, a system that attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I women's hockey tournament.

Early on in College Hockey America action, Robert Morris has exceeded league expectations, as they were voted to finish sixth in the CHA this preseason. The Colonials are 3-1-0 in conference play after splitting a series with a Syracuse team that was selected to finish at the top of the league, and sweeping a road series against the two-time defending CHA champion RIT Tigers.

The Colonials return to home ice this weekend for a two-game series versus CHA opponent Penn State on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 14 at 3:05 p.m.
