- RMU and Oregon got together for a memorable matchup last season, a 15-14 overtime victory for the Colonials indoors at the University of Pittsburgh. The back-and-forth battle featured a four-goal performance from then-junior
Kristin Yoviene, but classmate
Jessica Rutherford netted the winning goal with just 20 seconds remaining in the extra frame.
- Although their 14-goal output Monday against Detroit was their lowest of the young season, the Colonials remain the second-highest scoring team in Division I, averaging 18.8 goals per game. 14 RMU players have scored at least one goal, while 10 have assisted at least once.
- Junior midfielder
Corey Karwacki has put together an impressive streak, netting at least five points in each of RMU's past four games, all of them wins. Karwacki, who paced the Colonials in goals (32) and points (46) last season, has a team-leading 15 goals this spring after matching a career best with five vs. Detroit.
- Freshman midfielder
Dana Davis continues her impressive introduction to NCAA lacrosse, as she earned her
second Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week award on Monday. The product of Garnet Valley, Pa., leads RMU in ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (eight), while also chipping in nine goals and nine draw controls.
- Robert Morris has been effective with its rides so far this season, limiting opponents to a 57.3 percent success rate on clear attempts. The Colonials were at their aggressive best in that area against Detroit, breaking up seven of the Titans' 14 tries.
- Yoviene is more than halfway to her 43-point total of last year, with 27 (14g, 13a) through five games; her 5.4 points-per-game average ranks fourth overall in Division I. Junior midfielder
Brittany Byerly also has 14 goals so far, nearly matching her total of 17 through five games last season.
- Junior midfielder
Jessica Karwacki is up to her old tricks, posting an NCAA-best 14.8 draw controls per game to this point. The active collegiate leader in career draws (442) is 27 shy of former Northwestern star Alyssa Leonard, who holds the all-time D-I mark.
