Pittsburgh, Pa. –
Amanda Pantaleo, a freshman forward on the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team, was named College Hockey America (CHA) Rookie of the Month for February on Tuesday afternoon.
Pantaleo demonstrated a flair for the dramatic in February, tallying two big goals as the Colonials finished tied for third in the conference. The Markham, Ontario native scored the final tally in a 2-2 tie with RIT on Valentine's Day, and registered the game-winning power-play goal in RMU's 4-1 win at Penn State a week later.
Pantaleo becomes the second Colonial student-athlete to earn a monthly honor from the league, joining sophomore forward
Mackenzie Johnston, who was Player of the Month for January.
Robert Morris has posted the second highest winning percentage in conference play since 2011-12 (.569) and will return three of its four leading scorers and its starting goaltender in 2015-16.
