Men's Golf

Bell Named Golf Assistant Coach

Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Bell joins the Colonials golf team coaching staff for his first season, although he is no stranger to Robert Morris University. He brings a wealth of coaching and management experience to augment the Colonials coaching staff.

Most recently, Bell took an internship with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), traveling throughout the United States to coordinate and manage various tournaments. From the AJGA headquarters in Braselton, Ga., he traveled throughout the country over the course of 15 weeks to oversee all aspects of tournament play from setting tee and pin locations to acting as a rules official and managing and coordinating volunteers.

Bell's role with the AJGA allowed him to watch and interact with some of the best junior golfers in the country, something that should help him in the Colonials future recruiting efforts. No stranger to coaching, Bell was the head coach of the Trinity School District junior high basketball team and was an assistant basketball coach at both Bishop Canevin and Fort Cherry.

Bell graduated from RMU in the fall of 2014 after taking on an active role within the collegiate community. He was the president of the RMU men's golf club team for three years. He also served as a Colonial Ambassador, an intramural sports official and was the 2013-14 Campus Recreation Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
