Garrett Browning, the
Robert Morris University men's golf team finds itself in a familiar spot at the Leo Keenan Invitational hosted by St. Bonaventure University at Bartlett Country Club. The Colonials, who have won the Keenan Invitational the last two years and three of the last four, sit in first place at the 36-hole event following a first round score of 288.
Browning led the field with five birdies and also had an eagle as he fired the 12th sub-par round of his career. He shot 34 on both sides of the 6,308-yard layout and stands one shot in front of the rest of the field.
Mike McMorrow and
David Szymanski are in a logjam of nine players who are tied for ninth after carding rounds of 73.
Daniel Franco Saad was one shot off that pace with a 74 but finds himself in a tie for 18th position.
Dan Maier rounded out the RMU players counting toward the team score with an 80 and is tied for 51st. Alex Schrekengoot shot 79 playing as an individual, his score placing him in a tie for 44th.
St. Bonaventure is three shots behind the Colonials with a 291 followed by Northern Kentucky (293) with Drexel and Saint Francis University tied for fourth (295).
