RMU to Host Lindenwood on Skate for the Cure Weekend

Colonials look to rebound from tough road test and find success at home

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women's hockey team returns to 84 Lumber Arena this weekend to Skate for the Cure when they host Lindenwood on Friday, Jan. 29 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 30 at 3:05 p.m.
 
Robert Morris (12-9-5, 4-4-4) returned from Penn State last weekend with a loss and a tie with the Nittany Lions, but remains one point ahead of the College Hockey America foe in the current standings. Lindenwood (6-16-4, 3-5-4) is coming off of a split series against league-leading Mercyhurst. The Lions fell to the Lakers, 2-0, but bounced back to take Game 2, 1-0.

Robert Morris versus Lindenwood
The Colonials lead in the all-time series with the Lions, 14-5-1. Robert Morris tied Lindenwood for the first time in program history and won Game 2 of this season's road series between the two squads.
 
Where They Stack Up
Despite the preseason prediction of a fifth-place finish in the CHA standings, RMU currently checks in at No. 3 in the league, just four points behind second-place Syracuse and six points shy of league-leader Mercyhurst. The Colonials currently boast the most overall wins among CHA teams this season (12).
 
Moving On Up
Redshirt sophomore Brittany Howard's goal in last Friday's game at Penn State increased her career point total to 73. She is now two points shy of tying Kristen Miles (2005-08) and Kelsey Thomas (2009-12) for fifth place in all-time career points at Robert Morris.
 
Among the Ranks
RMU ranks among the top five in NCAA DI women's hockey in power-play goals (27; 3rd), power-play assists (53; 3rd), penalty kills (96; t-2nd), blocked shots (399; 4th) and blocked shots per game (15.35; 4th). RMU boasts a top-10 scoring offense (tenth), power play (sixth), penalty kill (eighth) and combined special teams (eighth).
