Pittsburgh, Pa. – In its College Hockey America (CHA) opening weekend, the Robert Morris University women's hockey team welcomes in-state rival Mercyhurst for a two-game Halloween weekend series on Friday, Oct. 28 at 3:05 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2:05 p.m. in 84 Lumber Arena.
 
Following a quick two-game stint on the road at Merrimack, Robert Morris (4-1-3) returns to home ice for a four-game home stand, starting with Mercyhurst (1-4-1) this weekend, followed by a two-game series against Syracuse the following weekend.
 
Although the Merrimack Warriors snapped RMU's program-record, season-opening unbeaten streak of six games, the Colonials are off to their best start in program history to kick off CHA play.

Robert Morris versus Mercyhurst

Robert Morris is 8-41-2 all-time versus Mercyhurst. The last time the Colonials defeated the Lakers was on Jan. 31, 2015. Jessica Gazzola scored the game-winning goal, and Rikki Meilleur was credited with the assist on the game winner.
 
 
Key Notes
Top-line trio Amber Rennie, Brittany Howard and Jaycee Gebhard have combined for 38 points through eight games. They are currently the most productive forward line in NCAA Division I women's hockey. Gebhard and Rennie pace the nation in points (13). Rennie is tied for second among all NCAA DI women's hockey players in assists (nine). Gebhard checks in at No. 3 in points per game among rookies (1.62).

RMU leads the country in faceoff wins (253), and ranks second in the nation in power-play goals (11) and power-play points (32), tied for second in assists (44), fourth in points (68), tied for fifth in goals (24), and fifth in power-play percentage (.239).

For the first time in her career, sophomore Amber Rennie was named CHA Player of the Week.
 
Getting It Done
Sophomore defenseman Maggie LaGue leads the nation in power-play assists (six) and power-play points (seven), and ranks second in blocked shots (30).
 
Trending
Sophomore defenseman Kirsten Welsh has scored a goal in four of the last five games. Redshirt junior Brittany Howard, freshman Jaycee Gebhard, and sophomore Amber Rennie are currently riding a four-game point streak. Gebhard has recorded multi-point efforts in six of eight games on the season.
