Pittsburgh, Pa. – Despite coming off a bye week, the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team continues to receive votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll and the USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll for the fourth straight week, released by USCHO.com.
Robert Morris (9-1-4, 5-0-1) is currently the only team in College Hockey America (CHA) that is undefeated in league action, and either ranked or receiving votes nationally. Additionally, RMU checks in at No. 12 this week in the Women's Division I PairWise Rankings, a system that attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I women's hockey tournament.
Two weeks ago, RMU earned its first national ranking since March of 2014. This week, the Colonials sit just shy of the top 10, with seven votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll, and three votes in the USCHO.com poll.
Following a brief pause from competition, Robert Morris returns to action this weekend in the Windjammer Classic on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, hosted by the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt. The Colonials are set to take on No. 5 Clarkson in the first round Friday evening at 7 p.m. The two losing teams from Friday's games will compete in the consolation game on Saturday at 4 p.m. The championship game will follow at 7 p.m.
