Robert Morris Earns Perfect APR Score

Colonials are one of six teams to achieve NCAA's highest Academic Progress Rate

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's hockey team is one of six college men's hockey teams in the nation to earn a perfect Academic Progress Rate score from the NCAA.

The APR measures Division I schools on their student-athletes' classroom success, awards points to teams based on grades, progress toward degrees and also for staying in school. In men's college hockey, Robert Morris is one of only six teams that reached the perfect four-year average APR score of 1,000. The four-year average includes the men's hockey teams and players from 2011-2015. The other schools include fellow Atlantic Hockey Association team Canisius, as well as Colgate, Dartmouth, Merrimack and Minnesota.

Ice hockey leads all men's sports in the NCAA's APR for the third straight year. According to
College Hockey, Inc. men's hockey's four-year average APR score of 987 from 2011-15 is eight points above the NCAA average and a two-point improvement from last year's score. More than 76 percent of all teams (45 of 59) had four-year APR scores of at least 980 and nearly half (25 of 59) have scores of at least 990. Hockey's single-year APR score for 2014-15 of 988 also led all men's sports with 50 or more programs.
