Krivoniak Earns Second Academic All-District Honor

Junior named to women's track & field / cross country team Thursday by CoSIDA

Moon Township, Pa. – Junior April Krivoniak of the Robert Morris University track & field team continued her impressive 2015-16 season Thursday, as she was named to the 2016 Academic All-District 2 Team for women's track & field and cross country by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

It marks the second academic all-district honor of the year for Krivoniak, as she was also tabbed to the 2015 Academic All-District 2 Team for volleyball in November. As a biomedical and manufacturing engineering major, Krivoniak owns a grade point average of (GPA) of 3.99.

The 2015 Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for volleyball as well as the 2016 NEC Scholar-Athlete for indoor track & field, Krivoniak will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

FEATURE: A Trend Setter, A Role Model

In 2015-16, Krivoniak was named to the All-NEC Second Team during the indoor track & field campaign in the shot put after earning silver at the 2016 NEC Indoor Track & Field Championships with a toss of 13.65 meters.

Krivoniak advanced to the ECAC Championships in the shot put and at the meet established a new school record in the event with a throw of 14.06 meters. Thanks to her performance she earned All-East Coast accolades for the second time. Krivoniak's best throw in the shot put during the 2016 outdoor campaign came at the Red Flash Open, where she posted a distance of 13.52 meters.

Krivoniak is the third member of the RMU track & field team to garner Academic All-America District 2 honors, joining former Colonials Nicole Soster (1997) and Rachael Kotula (2014).
