Karwacki & Brown Named to NEC All-Tournament Team

Smithfield, R.I. - Robert Morris University women's lacrosse lands two players to the Northeast Conference all-tournament team. Seniors Jessica Karwacki and Micah Brown both earn NEC tournament honors.

Karwacki (Sparks, Md./Hereford) led the Colonials in scoring in RMU's 17-7 loss to eventual conference champion Wagner in the semifinals. Karwacki scored three goals on six shots, also picking up a ground ball and winning three draw controls while causing four turnovers. Brown (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) led the Robert Morris defense in an effort to stop a tough offensive opponent, picking up a ground ball and recording two draw controls. Brown also drew a foul and recorded a shot on goal, nearly scoring in the second half.

This is the second appearance of Karwacki's career on an NEC all-tournament team, the first coming in 2014. This is the first all-tournament team honor for Brown.

Robert Morris finishes the season with a 9-8 overall record, marking the first time in school history the Colonials have had three consecutive winning seasons. The Class of 2016 seniors graduate as the winningest class in program history, recording 37 wins over the course of their careers and making three straight NEC tournament appearances.
