Moon Township, Pa. – Julia Chadwick, an incoming freshman on the Robert Morris University women's basketball team, has been selected to Canada Basketball's Under-18 National Team tryouts and training camp, which runs from July 14-28.
Chadwick is one of five freshmen that will join the Robert Morris program this season, joining Esther Castedo (Lugo, Spain / IES Ollos Grandes), Nafatoumata Haidara (Bamako, Mali / Ombudsman Charter Northwest [Ariz.]), Bella Posset (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver), and Natalie Villaflor (Ashburn, Va. / Loudoun County). Haidara signed a scholarship agreement in late June and will arrive in Moon Township after the fall semester.
In her senior season, Chadwick collected Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) Second Team All-Star accolades. She played in a pair of all-star invitationals (Capital Courts Showcase All-Star Game, Biosteel All-Canadian Women's All-Star Game) and participated in Team Canada's National Assessment Camp from March 27-April 2. With Team Ontario, Chadwick helped the squad win gold at the 2016 National Championships and silver in the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
