Moon Township, Pa. – Julia Chadwick, an incoming freshman on the Robert Morris University women's basketball team, has been selected to Canada's final roster for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-18 Women's Americas Championship.
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Chadwick made the 12-player team after training camp opened with 20 athletes on July 14. She is the second Colonial to represent their country at a FIBA tournament this summer, joining rising sophomore Irekpitan Ozzy-Momodu, who impressed with Great Britain at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship. The newest Robert Morris forward will don the number 10 for Canada.

"It's always a great honor to be one of the very few selected to represent your country's national team," said RMU head coach Charlie Buscaglia. "Julia has worked very hard this year, and we are very joyful to see her earn this amazing opportunity. We look forward to rooting her on."
Chadwick went on to enjoy a strong senior campaign after signing her National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the program in November of 2017. She earned MVP honors at the Biosteel All-Canadian All-Star Game and played in the Capital Courts Showcase All-Star Game. Chadwick also collected Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) Second Team All-Star plaudits following her final prep season. With Team Ontario, she helped the squad win at the 2016 National Championships and silver in the 2017 Summer Games.
