Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris University men's golf team has announced the addition of Parker Johnson for the 2019-20 season.
Johnson (Venetia, Pa. / Peters Township) is set to join the Colonials in 2019-20 with fellow newcomers Logan Hess and Alex Seelig, a Pennsylvania pair that signed National Letters of Intent in November of 2018. The trio will add to a program that has finished on the top of half of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships leaderboard in 10 consecutive seasons, and won a total of 20 tournaments since the 2009-10 campaign.

A two-sport athlete in golf and ice hockey at Peters Township High School, Johnson earned a pair of All-WPIAL selections on the links as a junior and senior, posting a stroke average of 37.57 in his final season. Last August, he finished second at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) Collegiate Prep Series held by Penn State University. In April of 2018, Johnson brought home a third-place finish at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Preview.
Johnson will join his older brother, Tanner, in the collegiate ranks as he is currently a sophomore on Ohio University's golf team. His uncle, Lance Chambers, played football at Army West Point. Johnson plans on studying business at Robert Morris.
Robert Morris, who was picked second in last week's NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, begins its spring season on Thursday, March 7 at the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational, held at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. and hosted by Bethune-Cookman.
