Kirk Earns Rookie Of The Week Honors

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris University goaltender Raygan Kirk added yet another accolade to her already impressive freshman campaign Monday afternoon after she was named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Week for her performance against RIT over the weekend.

Kirk started both games between the pipes for RMU, going 2-0 with .934 save percentage over two games.  The Manitoba native turned aside 29 of 30 shots in Friday's 5-1 win before stopping 17 of 19 Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in a 5-2 victory.

It is the fifth weekly award Kirk has earned from the CHA this season. She was named Rookie of the Week for the first time back on September 30, and also took home Goaltender of the Week honors three times, most recently on January 27th for her standout performance against Lindenwood.

Kirk was also named Goaltender of the Month after she put together one of the best stretches for an RMU goaltender in recent memory, going 4-3 with a 2.27 GAA and a .931 SV% in the month of January.  The freshman posted 40 saves in a 3-1 loss to No.1 Wisconsin on January 4th, and earned her third shutout of the season vs. Lindenwood on January 24.

RMU closes out the regular season this weekend when they travel to Syracuse for a pair of games against the Orange on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
