PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris University senior
Kelly Colegrove was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon following her shutdown performance against Bucknell last Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium.
Colegrove was instrumental in helping the Colonials earn their third straight victory of the season over the Bison to stay undefeated at home, recording six ground balls and five caused turnovers. The Marriottsville, Md. native played a key role in the Colonials' dramatic come-from-behind win, limiting Bucknell to just two goals in their final 43 minutes of game time after they raced out to a 6-1 lead midway through the first half.
Colegrove is the second Colonial to earn weekly accolades for RMU this season after freshman
Colleen Tifft earned Rookie of the Week honors last week.
The Colonials are 3-0 at home to start the season for the first time since 2015, and return to action this week for a pair of road clashes against Radford on Tuesday and Liberty on Thursday.
