Colonials Bolster Squad With Addition Of Hayashi

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's soccer team added a significant piece to its 2021 squad today with the signing of redshirt junior forward Kaoru Hayashi.

Hayashi comes to the Colonials ahead of their 2021 spring campaign after two seasons at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.

"We couldn't be more excited about having Ka join the RMU program," head coach Chris Shaw siad.  "She is such a technically gifted player, very tactically astute, and has great vision.  She is a student of the game and works extremely hard in training.  She will make an immediate impact on the program both on and off the field."

A native of Ama, Japan, Hayashi was integral in leading Snow College to back-to-back conference championships during her two seasons with the Badgers, posting six goals and 16 points in 19 games.

The offensively-minded midfielder earned a first-team all-region nomination as well as a SWAC All-Tournament Team selection in her two seasons at Snow, including a dynamic rookie year in 2018 where she finished third on the team in both goals (six) as well as total points with sixteen.

A versatile piece for the 2021 Colonials, Hayashi started as a defender for four years at Daisho Gakuen High School in Toyonaka, Japan before making the transition to midfield.  She also has experience playing forward as a member of the Japanese U-16 National Team in 2015.
