Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's and women's cross country teams continued its 2021 season Friday with its first road competition of the year, traveling to Bethlehem, Pa., to take part in the 47th Paul Short Run, which was hosted by Lehigh at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
TEAM SCORES
The RMU men finished 31st out of 41 teams, compiling 827 points, while the women scored 824 points to claim 32nd out of 39 institutions. Miami (Fla.) won the women's team championship in the College Brown six-kilometer course, posting 70 points. Dickinson (167), Buffalo (173), Amherst (222) and Carnegie Mellon (256) rounded out the top five. For the men, Southern Connecticut State finished first in an eight-kilometer course with 90 points, followed by RPI (114), Amherst (191), Concord (211) and Penn (218).

Fitzgerald has taken home the top time for the Colonials in each of their first three meets of the 2021 campaign and Friday he shaved over two minutes off his personal best in an eight-kilometer course. He finished 62nd individually out of 340 entrants. Each of the seven times for RMU student-athletes established personal records. Boyd dropped his personal best over three and-a-half minutes.
