Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Horizon League Championships Saturday, with the men finishing 11th and the women placing 12th. The Colonials scored 324 points on the men's side, while the women compiled 331 points.
#HLXC MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
IUPUI placed four harriers in the top eight and five in the top 10 en route to scoring 30 points and winning the 2021 team championship. The Jaguars were followed by Youngstown State (59), UIC (100), Milwaukee (139) and Oakland (150). Carlos Cabrera of UIC claimed the individual title, navigating the eight-kilometer course with a time of 25:36.8.
#HLXC WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
Milwaukee won the 2021 Horizon League championship, placing four runners in the top 11 in scoring 47 points. The Panthers edged out Oakland, which finished second with 64 points. Rounding out the top five was Youngstown State (70), UIC (152) and Detroit Mercy (171). Earning the individual championship was Abigail Halsey of Wright State, who posted a time of 22:10.6 in the six-kilometer course.

For the RMU men, freshman
Gavin Fitzgerald posted the top time for the Colonials, clocking in at 27:53.0 to finish 58th overall, including 50th in countable points. A fellow rookie also took home the top time for the RMU women, as freshman
Grace Mason finished 56th with a time of 25:04.9, including 46th in points.
