PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's lacrosse team picked up another sweep in the MAC weekly awards Thursday when it was announced that Melanie Gandy and Jordan Anderson had been named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. 

It is the first individual honor of the season for Anderson, while Gandy repeats as OPOW following her first win two weeks ago. 

Gandy led RMU in attack in their 23-4 victory over Kent State, scoring a hat trick and adding three assists for six total points as the Colonials improved to 5-0 in MAC play.  

After an early goal by KSU, Gandy put RMU on the board to tie things up at 1-1 just 57 seconds later, kick-starting a 7-0 run in which she scored again that allowed Robert Morris  to take control of the game.  She finished the day with four shots on goal and two ground balls in the win. 

Anderson, meanwhile, was unstoppable in the draw unit for the Colonials, racking up a season-high twelve draw controls including ten in the first half. 

Anderson racked up 10 draws in the opening 30 minutes, winning the ensuing draw on five of RMU's first seven goals which allowed them to quickly recover from an early 1-0 deficit, playing with a lead for the final 53:48 of action. Her aid to the possession game allowed RMU to hold a conference opponent to under five goals for the third time this season.

The Colonials return to action this Saturday when they head to Akron, Oh. for their season finale against the Zips Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
