Harley, Templeman Claim Academic All-America® Honors

Pair named to third team as part of at-large program

Moon Township, Pa. – Seniors Emilie Harley and Lexi Templeman of the RMU women's hockey team were named to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America® At-Large Third Team Friday, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Harley and Templeman are the fifth and sixth female student-athletes in athletic department history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. The duo joins Jaycee Gebhard (2019) of the women's hockey team, former volleyball standouts Whitney Brown (2019) and Amanda Graham (2010) and former softball student-athlete Annie Dubovec (2011).

Harley posted a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at RMU, while Templeman also finished with a 4.00 GPA in graduating with a BSBA in accounting.

Templeman led the Colonials in scoring during the 2020-21 season with 30 points courtesy of seven goals and a team-high 23 assists. She also posted a team-high plus/minus of +15 en route to garnering 2021 All-College Hockey America (CHA) First Team accolades. Templeman, a native of Staffa, Ontario, concluded her career at RMU by racking up 127 points (34 G, 93 A) in 130 games, ranking fourth all-time in program history in scoring.

Harley, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., played all 25 games in 2020-21 for an RMU team that posted an overall record of 16-8-1 (.660) and earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. She finished with 15 points out of her defensive position, accruing a goal and 14 assists. Harley also played in 130 career games for the Colonials, scoring 46 points thanks to 10 goals and 36 assists.

Overall in RMU athletic department history, a total of 14 student-athletes have been named to a CoSIDA Academic All-America® team dating back to 2004. For more information on the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program, please visit AcademicAllAmerica.com.
