PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris women's hockey alumni Anna Fairman was named to the Chinese Olympic National Team for the upcoming Beijing games, it was announced Wednesday.
Fairman becomes the fourth Colonial in program history to participate in the Olympics, joining Brianne McLaughlin, Meeri Räisänen and Aneta Ledlova, the latter three of whom will all join Fairman in Beijing next month.
A native of Troy, Michigan, Fairman was a member of Robert Morris for two seasons from 2019-2021, amassing one goal and 8 points in 53 career games for RMU as a defender. She has spent the 2021-22 season playing professionally for the KRS Vanke Rays of the Zhenskaya Hockey League in Guangdong, China.
Fairman was an integral part of the Colonials CHA Tournament Championship squad during her sophomore season in 2020-21, lacing up in 22 of 25 games for RMU on the blueline as the Colonials marched to their third postseason crown and second NCAA Tournament Appearance.
Robert Morris has had at least one alumni participate in every winter Olympics since the Vancouver Games in 2010.
