Opening Tip
- The Colonials begin a four-game road slate when they open up Horizon League action at Wright State on Friday night. This will only be RMU's second road contest of the season.
- RMU dominated in the month of November, recording a 5-1 record to begin the season. The Colonials averaged 66.0 points, while beating teams by an average 16.8 points per game.
- The Colonials are coming off a 62-52 victory over Canisius at the UPMC Events Center last Saturday. Sophomore center Danielle Vuletich paced RMU with 14 points off the bench, while collecting six rebounds. She finished 4-of-6 from the field and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe, while adding two steals.
- Also scoring in double figures in the win over the Golden Griffins for the Colonials was junior guard Mackenzie Amalia (11) and sophomore forward Phoenix Gedeon (10). Amalia collected a career-high six steals, while adding two assists and a pair of threes. Gedeon tallied nine boards and went a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Classmate Simone Morris collected a career-best and team high 11 rebounds, while chipping in nine points.
- RMU's defense has been stout to open the season, holding teams to just 42.2 points per game, which is good for 10th in the NCAA. As a team, the Colonials sit second in the country in three-point defense, holding opponents to just 16.1 percent.
- Phoenix Gedeon continues to lead the Colonials in multiple categories. She paces the team and sits fifth in the Horizon League with 13.5 points per game, while averaging 6.7 boards per game, which is good for sixth in the conference.
- Mackenzie Amalia has been a productive floor general through the first six games for RMU. She sits tied for second in the conference with 3.5 assists per game and has totaled 21 assists this season, which leads the Horizon League. Amalia has collected 13 steals and is averaging over two a game to be tied for second in the league.
- The Colonials opened the season with their best start since the 1980-81 campaign, starting 4-0. RMU sits tied for first in the Horizon League with Cleveland State, as conference play starts this week.

The All-Time Series (Wright State) – This will be the ninth meeting between these two squads with the Colonials holding a 5-3 overall record over the Raiders. RMU has won the last four meetings, capturing a 63-54 victory (2/18) last season.

Scouting the Raiders – Wright State comes in with a 1-4 overall record, dropping their last two contests. The Raiders dropped a 105-52 decision at No. 4 Ohio State before falling at Eastern Illinois 96-67 on Monday night. Wright State captured their first victory of the year when they routed Ohio Christian (11/17) 98-37. The Raiders are led by senior guard Bryce Nixon who is averaging 11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this season. She's averaging 2.2 threes per game and has 11 on the season, which is good for third in the conference. The trio of Kacee Baumhower, Isabelle Bolender, and Emily Chapman are all averaging 8.6 points per game, while Baumhower paces the team with 4.8 boards. As a team, Wright State sits second in the Horizon League averaging 69.0 points per game, while shooting .444 percent from the field.
Bench Play – The Colonials bench has been stout for them in the opening six contests this season, averaging 25.6 points per game.
