Opening Tip
  • Robert Morris plays its second straight road contest when it travels to Highland Heights, Kentucky to take on the Norse in Horizon League action on Sunday afternoon. This will be the second of four-consecutive road games for the Colonials.
  • The Colonials are coming off a dominating performance in the opening night of conference play, capturing a 68-47 victory at Wright State on Friday evening. A trio of Colonials scored in double-figures led by sophomore forward Phoenix Gedeon, who finished with 15 points and a career high 19 rebounds. The 19 boards are the most since Artemis Spanou collected 20 rebounds against Saint Francis University in 2014.
  • Freshman forward Paris Kirk recorded 12 points off the bench, while shooting 4-of-5 from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from downtown. Sophomore Alejandra Mastral finished with 10 points and three assists in 32 minutes of action.
  • Sophomore Rebecca Dwomoh tallied eight points, three steals, and a block, while classmate Danielle Vuletich collected eight points and six boards. Sophomore Simone Morris registered seven rebounds and a steal in the win.
  • Robert Morris continues to give opponents offense problems as they are holding teams to just 48.9 points per game, which ranks fifth in the country. The Colonials have been successful on holding teams to a low shooting percentage from behind the arc as they rank second in the NCAA in defensive three-point percentage at 17.8.
  • The Colonials have won back-to-back games after securing a 62-52 victory over Canisius (11/26) at the UPMC Events Center. Vuletich paced RMU with 14 points off the bench, while collecting six rebounds. She finished 4-of-6 from the field and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe, while adding two steals.
  • Junior Mackenzie Amalia collected a career-high six steals, while adding two assists and a pair of threes. Gedeon tallied nine boards and went a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
  • Through the first seven games, Robert Morris sits fourth in the Horizon League in scoring offense at 66.3 points per game. The Colonials have been dominating as they pace the league in scoring margin at 17.4

The All-Time Series (Northern Kentucky) – This will be the seventh meeting between these two teams as the Norse holds a 6-1 overall record over RMU. Northern Kentucky has won four-consecutive contests in the series, capturing a 64-49 victory (2/20/22) last February. Mastral finished with six points, three steals, and a block, while Amalia recorded five points and three rebounds. Robert Morris forced 17 turnovers and collected nine steals in the loss.

Northern Kentucky Notes – Northern Kentucky comes in with a 3-4 overall record behind an 0-1 mark in league play. The Norse are currently on a three-game losing streak, dropping their Horizon League opener to Youngstown State 59-55 last Friday. They fell at Bowling Green 76-68 (11/23) before dropping a nail biter against Akron 70-69 (11/28). As a team, Northern Kentucky leads the conference in scoring offense, averaging just under 73 points a game (72.7 ppg). The Norse feature the top scorer in the league in Lindsey Duvall who is averaging 21.3 points per game through seven games. She is shooting .429 percent from the floor, while leading the team with 8.7 boards. Kailee Davis sits second on the team averaging 14.0 points, 4.4 assists and collecting a steal per game. Ivy Turner is registering 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals for the Norse this season.

Balanced Attack – Through the first seven games, the Colonials have had a balanced attack and getting everyone involved as they have six players scoring six or more points. Gedeon continues to lead the Colonials with 13.7 points and 8.4 rebounds, which is good for fifth and fourth in the Horizon League. Vuletich has been solid for RMU off the bench as she is averaging 9.9 points and 5.0 boards, Morris is recording 7.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists this season. Mastral and Paris Kirk are averaging over 7.0 points, while Mastral is collecting 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals. Amalia is registering 6.6 points, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals, while leading the team with nine three-pointers.
