PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris University senior guard Esther Castedo was named to the Horizon League All-League third team, the conference announced today. It marks the first Horizon League season honor for Castedo in her time at Robert Morris.
The Lugo, Spain native is enjoying a historic season for the Colonials in her final campaign in Moon Township, currently leading Robert Morris in overall scoring at 10.8 points per game, a new career best and a mark that puts her in the Top-20 for individual scorers in the Horizon League.
Castedo paces the Colonials in a number of offensive categories, including field goal attempts (9.5) and field-goals made per-game (3.9), free throws (1.9) and steals (1.8) and is the only Colonial shooting over 41% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc.
The senior has led RMU in scoring 13 times during the 2021 campaign and has reached double-figures 14 times, both of which lead the team.
Castedo and the Colonials are set to host their first ever Horizon League tournament game this Tuesday, March 1 when Purdue First Wayne comes to the UPMC Events Center for a first-round matchup at 7:00 p.m.
