Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU softball team announced Tuesday that it will host its Hit-A-Thon for the third time in program history and the first time since 2020.
The season-long fundraising effort is designed to help raise money to provide the best experience possible for student-athletes, assist program innovation with the best tools in the industry and raise funds to upgrade equipment and facilities.
The Hit-A-Thon provides two options to raise money. An individual or business can offer an amount to donate in a statistical category, including hits, runs, home runs, strikeouts and Horizon League victory. One category or multiple can be selected, and at the end of the season a set of final statistics will be sent out with a donation letter that can be returned to RMU softball.

The second option is a flat donation. For example, a donation of $1,000 (1921 Club membership) can be given or any donation one is comfortable supplying. All donations are tax deductible. To take part in the RMU 2022 Hit-A-Thon, please

Led by third-year head coach
Jexx Varner, the Colonials recorded an overall record of 25-19 (.568) last season, including a mark of 20-14 (.588) in the Horizon League. RMU posted its first 25-win season since 2015 and qualified for the 2021 Horizon League Tournament as the No. 4 seed.
RMU opens its 2022 campaign Friday, Feb. 11, with a doubleheader in Greensboro, N.C., against North Carolina A&T. It marks the first two of a three-game set with the Aggies, as the Colonials will also take on North Carolina A&T Saturday, Feb. 12. The three-game series comes as part of the North Carolina A&T / Howard round robin. RMU will take on Howard Saturday, Feb. 12, and Sunday, Feb. 13.
