Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team concluded play in the 2022 Horizon League Championships Tuesday in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., at Mission Inn Resort. The Colonials posted their best score in the third round, carding a 302, to finish the three-day competition with a score of 933 (+69).
TEAM CHAMPION
Wright State earned a wire-to-wire victory in earning its seventh #HLGOLF championship. The Raiders shot a 284 Tuesday and finished with an 851 (-13), 10 strokes head of Youngstown State (861). Rounding out the top five was Oakland (866), Cleveland State (892) and Purdue Fort Wayne (900).

The most consistent student-athlete on the course for the Colonials at the 2022 Horizon League Championships was junior
Alex Seelig, who finished with a 75 in the third and final round in collecting a three-day score of 224 (+8). He tied for 20th individually with Brett Seward of Purdue Fort Wayne. Seelig notched a trio of birdies Tuesday and collected a team-high 10 throughout the championships. He also averaged 4.75 strokes when playing a par 5.
THE LINEUP
Seelig finished at par on 29 holes throughout the 2022 Horizon League Championships, tied with sophomore
Xavier Schwarz, who finished with a score of 276. Also finishing at 276 for RMU was senior
Chase Miller. In Tuesday's final round, Miller posted a 74, his best round of the championships, while Schwarz also recorded his best round at 76. Miller and Schwarz were two of four student-athletes to tie for 32nd individually, joining Zak Kulka of Green Bay and Colin Sikkenga of Oakland. Junior
Josh Nagy posted a 77 Tuesday to finish the championships at Mission Inn Resort with a 244, while junior
Parker Johnson carded an 82 Tuesday and in two rounds shot 162.
