The All-Time Series (Green Bay) – Friday's #HLVB road opener marks the fifth time the Colonials and Phoenix matchup on the volleyball court. Green Bay owns a 3-1 (.750) record in the all-time series after sweeping the 2021 season series. In the opener last year, the Phoenix posted a 3-0 win over RMU at the Kress Center (10/15/21) before the Colonials fell in five sets at the UPMC Events Center (11/14/21) as part of Senior Day festivities. In that match former outside hitter
Alyson Londot (2017-21) paced RMU with 14 kills.
Â
The All-Time Series (Milwaukee) – The Colonials and Panthers meet for the fourth time Saturday, with Milwaukee having won each of the previous three meetings. During the 2021 campaign, the Panthers earned a pair of 3-0 victories over the Colonials. The first-ever meeting between the two programs came in 2014, a 3-0 setback in Milwaukee, Wisc., as part of the Panther Invitational (8/29/14).
Â
Aces High – Junior
Annie Monaco became the 10th different RMU student-athlete in program history to notch at least six service aces in a match when she turned the trick in the Horizon League opener against Oakland (9/20) at the UPMC Events Center. Each of the six aces for Monaco came in the fourth set, including three consecutive that gave the Colonials a 10-3 lead. Former middle blocker
Emma Granger (2017-21) owns the single-match record of eight, which she set last season in a 3-0 sweep of George Washington (9/17/21) in Morgantown, W.Va., as part of the Mountaineer Invitational. Granger broke the previous mark of seven, which was held by Colonials Amanda Graham (2007-10) and Darcey Miller (2001-04). Monaco became the ninth RMU student-athlete to register six in a match.
Â
Did You Know? RMU has outscored its opponents, 228-209, in the fourth while also owning a 30-19 advantage when playing in a fifth set. Combined, the Colonials own a record of 6-4 in matches that go either four or five sets.
Dig Me Out – Senior
Allena Carmody is looking to become the second student-athlete for the Colonials to join the RMU 1,000-Dig Club in as many years. Carmody eclipsed 800 career digs at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Dunn Campbell Invitational and owns 841 during her career. Based on a four-set match, Carmody would need to average 2.34 digs per set through the remaining 17 matches of the 2022 regular season to become the 14th RMU student-athlete in program history with 1,000 career digs. Carmody has posted at least 10 digs in 12 of RMU's 13 matches this season, including 11 consecutive entering Friday's match @ Green Bay.
