MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's basketball will prepare for their first conference game of the season against Cleveland State on Wednesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (2-4) are looking to get back on track after losing to in-state foe Bucknell, 64-58. Simone Morris leads RMU with 12.3 points per game. Naomi Barnwell is RMU's leading rebounder as she averages 6.5 boards per game.
 
CLEVELAND STATE LATELY
The Vikings (5-1) are coming off an 82-45 win vs UMKC on Nov. 25. Cleveland State opened the season with a loss to Bowling Green but since then they've won five straight contests going into their first conference test. The Vikings went on an incredible run to start last season as they began the year with a 16-1 record before their first conference loss against Green Bay.
COMMON OPPONENTS     
RMU and Cleveland State have many common opponents within the conference which they haven't competed against yet however, they both also play against non-conference foe Akron. RMU already faced Akron and lost in overtime, 63-58. Cleveland State will host the Zips on December 10th in non-conference action.
 
RMU AND CLEVELAND STATE HISTORY
The Colonials have a 4-5 overall record against the Vikings dating back to the 1985 season. Cleveland State has won the last two matchups with RMU's last victory coming on February 13, 2022. In the last meeting, it was RMU's Phoenix Gedeon who led the team with 14 points and 16 rebounds while Simone Morris added nine points and six rebounds. The Colonials also have a 3-1 record on the road against Cleveland State in the series history.
Single Game High's vs Penn State Beaver (11/21) – RMU cruised to a dominant 89-39 win over the Nittany Lions as they were led by Danielle Vuletich who had 18 points for the Colonials. Morris had 15 points for RMU and also corralled four rebounds for the home team. Paris Kirk made a significant impact as she had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Colonials with most of those points coming in the first half.
Single Game High's vs Bucknell (11/24) - The Colonials fell short against the Bison as Morris led RMU with 13 points and six field goals made. Alejandra Mastral had 11 points and a team-high five steals in the loss. Madison O'Dell had her best game of the season to date as she had 13 points with seven of those coming in the third quarter.
International Journey - The RMU Women's Basketball team features eight international players: Tuana Coskun (Istanbul, Turkiye) Louella Allana (Laval, Quebec), Eden Monka (Montreal, Quebec), Camila Bozan (Santiago, Chile), Rebecca Dwomoh (London, England), Paris Kirk (Kelowna, B.C.), Naomi Barnwell (Chanteloup-Les-Vignes, France) and Alejandra Mastral (Zaragoza, Spain).

The Colonials will come back home and host Youngstown State in a Horizon League matchup on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the UPMC Events Center and can be seen on ESPN+.

In addition to a full slate of Horizon League games, the Colonials will also host an MTE Tournament at the UPMC Events Center as part of their 2023-24 non-conference home schedule.
