  • The Robert Morris women's basketball team hits the road for its final regular season road trip, when it travels to IUPUI on Thursday evening at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
  • The Colonials are coming off a senior day victory, taking down Milwaukee 50-45 at the UPMC Events Center on Sunday afternoon.
  • Sophomore Alejandra Mastral paced RMU and carded a career-high 16 points on 4-of-5 from long distance. She finished 5-for-10 from the field and collected two rebounds.
  • Classmate Phoenix Gedeon registered her 12th double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 caroms. She shot 8-of-14 from the charity strip while dishing out three assists and collecting a steal.
  • Simone Morris chipped in nine points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor and grabbed three rebounds, while Rebecca Dwomoh and Natalie Johnson each scored six points each. Amalia and freshman guard Louella Allana each tallied three steals during the win.
  • The Colonials held Milwaukee to just 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from three-point land, including 1-of-12 in the first half. RMU forced the Panthers into 23 turnovers while collecting nine steals.

The All-Time Series (IUPUI) – It'll be the seventh all-time meeting when the Colonials and Jaguars take the hardwood on Thursday evening. IUPUI holds a 5-1 overall record in the series but Robert Morris captured its first victory earlier this season. The Colonials claimed a 69-63 win in January (1/14) where it saw RMU card their second-best performance in Horizon League action this year from behind the arc, as they shot 10-for-23 (.435). Sophomores Phoenix Gedeon and Rebecca Dwomoh both produced 17 points as Dwomoh's five three-pointers were vital in the team's win. Junior guard Mackenzie Amalia paced for 11 points and a team leading five assists. Danielle Vuletich also scored 11 and added five boards, while freshman Louella Allana made three treys.

Scouting The Jaguars – IUPUI two games ago earned a 87-73 victory at Oakland on Saturday afternoon, improving them to 16-12 overall behind an 12-7 mark in Horizon League action. The Jaguars shot 50 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Golden Grizzlies by a 49-37 margin in the victory. Jazmyn Turner led five Jaguars in double-digits with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Michigan-native Logan Lewis pumped in 14 points off the bench on 5-of-6 shooting. Natalie Andersen (12), Rachel Kent (11) and Destiny Perkins (10) also finished in double-figures. Defensively, IUPUI held Oakland to just 34.3 percent for the day as the offense stacked up 26 assists on 33 field goals as Kent, Perkins and Lewis had five each.

In a high scoring affair, the Jaguars beat the Penguins of Youngstown State, 87-80. Five different players scored in double-figures. IUPUI out rebounded YSU 37-29 on the day. With this win, IUPUI is now tied with YSU for the third seed in the Horizon League Conference. IUPUI has one game remaining on their schedule against RMU. 

IUPUI is led by the trio of Jazmyn Turner, Destiny Perkins and Rachel Kent who are combining for 40.5 points per game. Tuner sits fourth in the conference averaging 14.1 points per contest, while Perkins sits right behind her in fifth at 13.7. Kent is the third Jaguar in double-figures, averaging 12.7 per game, which is good for ninth in the league. Turner sits second in the Horizon League with a .566 shooting percentage as she has shot 50.0 percent or better in 18 of 26 games this season. Perkins leads the conference in assists per game at 4.1 and has recorded four or more assists in 14 contests this year. Kent leads the team and sits ninth in the Horizon League with 6.2 boards per game as she has collected six or more caroms 16 times this season.

CSC Academic All-District Team – Four members of the RMU women's basketball team were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All‐District Team on Tuesday afternoon. Junior Mackenzie Amalia and sophomores Rebecca Dwomoh, Alejandra Mastral, and Simone Morris were all selected to be recognized. The Academic All‐District Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom The CSC Academic All‐American program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Off She Goes - Before Sunday's contest, the Robert Morris women's basketball team recognized their lone senior in Mackenzie Amalia. She paced the Colonials with a team-high three steals and three assists, while collecting three rebounds in the victory over Milwaukee. It's the fourth time this season Amalia has collected three or more steals, while leading the team in assists for the 13th time this year. The Beaver Falls native has totaled 72 assists this season and has collected 36 steals during the 2022-23 campaign.

By The Dozen – For the 12th time this season, sophomore Phoenix Gedeon carded another double-double in the win over the Panthers. Gedeon registered 10 points and 10 boards on 8-of-14 shooting from the charity stripe. She finished with three offensive caroms to go along with three steals and a block. The Quebec native has finished in double-figures in six straight games, while carding four double-doubles in that span. Gedeon sits seventh in the conference in scoring at 13.7 and third with 8.6 rebounds per contest.
