Opening Tip
- The Robert Morris women's basketball team wraps up its regular season when it hosts Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Events Center in conference action.
- The Colonials concluded their road portion of their schedule for the regular-season on Thursday evening when they dropped an 83-69 decision at IUPUI. A 16-2 run in the fourth quarter for the Jags is what helped them pull away.
- Four players finished in double-figures, led by sophomore Phoenix Gedeon, who was one rebound shy of another double-double. She finished with 15 points and nine boards, four of them coming on the offensive.
- Sophomore Danielle Vuletich registered 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor, while classmate Simone Morris chipped in 11 points, five caroms, and a block. She finished five-of-six from the charity stripe.
- Sophomore Rebecca Dwomoh was the final Colonial to reach double digits, recording 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a pair of threes in the loss.
- Junior Mackenzie Amalia finished with nine points, all of them coming from three-pointers, while dishing out a team-high four assists and collecting three boards. Sophomore Alejandra Mastral carded eight points, six rebounds, and a team leading four steals in the contest. Mastral also buried a pair of triples.

The All-Time Series (Youngstown State) – It'll be the 29th all-time meeting when the Colonials and Penguins take the floor on Saturday afternoon. YSU comes to Moon Township holding a 21-7 overall record in the series. The two squads met earlier in January (1/12) where YSU captured a 65-48 win at the Beeghly Center. The matchup featured the two most dominant forwards in the Horizon League in RMU's
Phoenix Gedeon and YSU's Lily Ritz. Gedeon recorded her sixth double-double of the season producing 17 points and 10 caroms. Ritz finished with 19 and added 14 boards. Junior guard
Mackenzie Amalia carded 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field with a pair of three-pointers. She tallied six rebounds and dished out three assists.
Danielle Vuletich provided eight points and two boards, while freshman
Louella Allana had seven points and dished out two assists along with six rebounds. The Colonials are averaging 62.7 points per contest in the series and have split the last eight meetings with the Penguins at home.
Scouting The Penguins – Youngstown State currently sits fourth in the Horizon league and stands at 18-10 overall, with a 12-7 mark in conference action. The Penguins come to Moon Township on a three-game losing streak, falling at IUPUI 87-80 on Tuesday night (2/21). One of the top scorers in the conference, Lilly Ritz surpassed 2,000 career points after finishing with 20 points and 14 rebounds while adding five steals and two blocks. Dena Jarrells scored a game-high 25 points, which was a new career high, and she added a game-best five assists. The Jaguars shot 50 percent (25-of-50) from the floor, including 28-for-34 (85.3 percent) from the charity stripe.
YSU features three players averaging double-figures, led by Ritz, who ranks second in the conference at 17.5 points per game and paces the Horizon League at 10.8 boards per contest. She sits sixth in the country in double-doubles with 17, while registering 12 20-point games this season. Megan Callahan sits second on the team at 10.7 points per game and paces the Penguins in three-point shooting at 41.2 percent. Malia Megestro is the third Penguin in double digits at 10.1 points per contest. She's recording 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season. As a team, YSU is averaging 67.6 points per game, while surrendering 59.8 points, both in which are in the top five of the conference The Penguins lead the league with just over 16 assists per contest while knocking down 7.8 triples, which is good for third in the Horizon League.
Block Party – Standing at 5'10, sophomore
Simone Morris has made her presence felt on the defensive end. Morris has tallied at least one block in four of the last five games, giving her a team leading 15 on the season. Over the last 10 games, the California native has tallied 10 blocks, three games in which she recorded multiple rejections.
Defending Home Court – Going into Saturday's contest, Robert Morris currently holds a 9-6 record at the UPMC Events Center. The Colonials are averaging 58.9 points per game at home while holding teams to just 53.7 points per contest. Defense has been the main factor for RMU at home as they are forcing over 19 turnovers a game in Moon Township. The Colonials are collecting just under nine steals a game as they sit fourth in the Horizon League at 8.5 per contest this season.

Simone Morris were all selected to be recognized. The Academic All‐District Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom The CSC Academic All‐American program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
