Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU rowing team continued its 2023 spring campaign Saturday, competing in the Colgate Regatta in Rome, N.Y., from the Hamilton College Boathouse with a field that included Canisius, Connecticut, Holy Cross, Marist and the host Raiders.
VARSITY 8
A pair of Varsity 8 boats saw action for the Colonials Saturday, with the Varsity 8 recording a time of 7:01.60 in its opening race before closing at 7:25.45 in the petite final. For the Second Varsity 8, RMU opened at 8:01.93 and in the petite final notched a time of 8:01.61.
QUOTABLE
"I think the Second Varsity 8 made some big improvements between their heat and final," said RMU head coach
Robert Weber. "We keep building a foundation, and I think we're learning a lot in general about what it takes to be successful. While the results were maybe not what we'd hoped for, it doesn't mean we aren't making progress as a program. There are a number of positives to point to as we look to finish our spring season strong."
