Moon Township, Pa. – A total of 23 student-athletes from the RMU rowing team were named to the 2022-23 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll Wednesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale, and freshmen are eligible. The 2022-23 MAAC Academic Honor Roll covers 24 sponsored sports and includes both full-time and associate members.
A total of 3,020 student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 MAAC Academic Honor Roll, including 337 from associate members, which includes the Colonials. Sacred Heart led all MAAC associate members with 67 honorees, followed by LIU (55), Wagner (47), Drake (25) and RMU (23).

Five of the student-athletes to be named to the 2022-23 MAAC Academic Honor Roll for the Colonials own a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher, including a pair that have recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA. Junior
Hannah Fowler owns a 4.00 GPA as an early childhood education major, while rising sophomore
Sarah Madey, who studies accounting, notched a 4.00 GPA during her first year with the program.

Bella Cartier and
Brianna Gfroerer each recorded a GPA of 3.97 during the 2021-22 academic year, as Cartier is a psychology major, while Gfroerer studies nursing. Sophomore
Isabella Bigler, meanwhile, has compiled a 3.92 GPA as a cinema & photography major.
In all, 10 of the 23 student-athletes for RMU named to the 2022-23 MAAC Academic Honor own a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, while 17 have posted a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better.
